STAGE FUND

1n 1998 a group of men headed by Jim Bernshausen refurbished an old house trailer to be used as a stage at the Popcorn Festival. The stage also serves as a storage area for the various equipment needed every year for the Festival. Thanks to Bob Fornoff for the use of his property to store the stage. It has served its purpose well. But the stage is beginning to show serious defects that will most likely terminate its use very soon. In 2008 it was decided to begin efforts to construct a permanent stage in the Southeast corner of the park. A fund was established with a donation by Phatt Kitti (shown above on Stage).
We would like to build a stage than can be used by other groups throughout the year. We hope to build a stage that will be an asset to the park and the neigborhood.
Committee member Doug Lord has made the attached drawings to show the type of stage we would like to build.
As shown in the botom photo, each of the stage styles has a storage area below.
We want to build a stage large enough that performances by large groups would be feasible, but not so large to be cost prohibitive.
Please stop by the Popcorn Festival Booth during the Popcorn Festival and let us know your ideas.
A fund has been established at Manito Community Bank for donations to a stage fund. Donations will also be accepted during the Festival.
